We would like to extend to you a bit of history for the company that we have come to love and know as
Cumberland Well and Pump was originally established by my Father Ronald Cook in 1952. Our company has always been and will be a family owned and operated for many years to come.
Business celebrates family
Jeffrey W. Cook bought his well drilling company in 1993, but he's been working in the business all his life. His father founded R.W.Cook Well & Pump (now J.W.Cook) in 1952, and Cook learned the ropes drilling water wells throughout southern Massachusetts and Rhode island.
"Drilling is in my blood," Cook said. "Always has been." Before buying the company from his father, Cook worked in Africa drilling oil wells, and has drilled from Maine to Florida and everywhere in between. But when the opportunity came to return to the family business, he couldn;t pass it up.
"I wanted the company to stay with the family," cook said. "I first started working there when I was 16 really wanted to keep it going." Cook took his international experience and used it to expand and diversify the comapny.J.W.Cook builds everything from water wells for small homes to geothermal units and windmills for commercial customers.
But Cook said the focus of the company hasn't changed at all in thee past 60 years: stated april 18, 2013.
Serving people.
"I like to help people," Cook said. "That's the bottom line, that's why I do what I do. People really panic when they can't get water, and I love going out and helping." The company services Well and Water Filtration 24 hours a day, seven days a week, "I went out twice this past christmas," Cook said. "But that's just part of the passion for helping the customers." Spring is his busy season, but Cook said he;s hoping to take some time to get more involved in the North Attleborough community. I love downtown NOrth Attleborough cook said I love all the little shops Its very unique."
